Professional Development for Your Library

Teaching is a true passion of mine.  I also have a background in it, having focused my undergrad at Marquette University on Secondary Education. I was also employed as Adjunct Professor at St. Catherine University's Graduate School of Library and Information Science.  Whatever your group's needs are, I can adapt my content and style to fit your audience and needs.

My areas of expertise include grant writing, library remodels and space design, trauma-informed leadership, strategic planning, accessibility and compliance, reasonable accommodations, staff development and management, evaluation and assessment, youth services, and community engagement. For a list of workshops I have given in the past, check out the Presentations page.

If you are interested in booking a workshop, virtual training, keynote presentation, or want to find out more about specific training opportunities I can bring to your library, feel free to contact me. I am also available for 1:1 coaching conversations about librarianship and career planning. I look forward to hearing from you!

Testimonials

Renee is a joy to work with! She recently partnered with us to present two sessions on accessibility and neuro-inclusivity in the library, and our participants enjoyed her engaging, compassionate style alongside her practical takeaways. Behind the scenes, Renee is professional, responsive, and understanding, and she collaborates seamlessly with my team and me. I am eager to work with Renee again in the future, and I would highly recommend her to others looking for library consultants or trainers.

Renee Grassi has presented numerous programs at Illinois Library Association (ILA) events. Renee is an engaging and insightful speaker who is passionate about providing equitable and inclusive library services. Her programs are concise, clear, and comprehensive. Attendees leave Renee’s presentations with tips and strategies for planning, implementing, and evaluating their
programming. I highly recommend Renee as a speaker and look forward to having her present at future ILA events.
Cynthia Robinson | Executive Director at Illinois Library Association

Renee, Thank you so much for your excellent presentation today. I present on this topic and also regularly go to whatever presentations I come across related to neurodiversity and libraries, and yours was the first I've attended that really seemed to get everything right. From an adult-diagnosed, autistic librarian, thank you thank you!

Renee's presentations are filled with valuable and applicable information. Her energy is contagious and you can hear the passion in her voice for her topics. Her program for PCI Webinars in February Libraries for All: Serving People with Disabilities at Your Library, received wonderful reviews and we look forward to her next program with us.
Andrew Sanderbeck | Managing Partner at People Connect Institute

I've had the great pleasure of producing two webinars Renee presented through WebJunction. Renee is clear, efficient and thorough in her communications, making it easy and enjoyable to plan for relevant and impactful library staff training. She stays up to date on understanding the ever-changing needs of her community and her library, bringing innovative and responsive strategies to the forefront of the youth services field, and informing better practices for more inclusive and equitable libraries around the country and around the world.
